Project description

The regional capital of Düsseldorf is planning a new suburban railway line, approx. 2 km long for the present section.

The new suburban railway route crosses the federal road 8, and federal motorway A 44 amongst others, and runs into the terminal area in an approx. 0.4 km long tunnel, and ends in an underground station there.

The focuses of the engineering services are the planning of the required bridge structures, with a total length of approx. 460 m, the tunnel sections in open construction, and the track and road systems.

Here, in particular, the transport facilities and the future underground station, must be planned to correspond with the master plan of Düsseldorf airport.

In the course of variant development, amongst other things a suburban railway tunnel was conceived across the whole planning phase.
