Project:
Supporting the principal in planning the new build U5 and extension U4

The short distance public transport percentage of the total volume of traffic should be increased, to increase the attractiveness (living, economy) of the city of Hamburg.

This includes:

- The extension of the existing underground line U4 from Horner Rennbahn to Horner Geest (approx. 2 km open tunnel structure, three new stops)

- New build of the line U5 East from Bramfeld Dorfplatz to City-Nord (approx. 7 km in primarily closed tunnel structure, 6 new stops)

- New build of the line U5 Centre from City North via the main train station to Siemersplatz and/or Stellingen/Arenen (approx. 18 km in closed tunnel structure, 17 new stops)

- New build of the line U5 HH West from Stellingen to Osdorfer Born (approx. 8 km, four new stops)

Planning of the aforementioned underground lines is at various levels of completion, and goes from the creation of the feasibility study (U5 HH West) to preliminary planning (U5 Centre) to the approval planning (U5 East) right up to submission of the planning approval (U4).
