Project:
Suburban railway routes S2 – S4 Bremen

Modern, barrier free and customer friendly passenger train stations, are one of the most important requirements, to increase acceptance and use of local passenger rail transport.

In this context, 15 transport stations on the suburban railway routes S2-4, of the Bremen transport association, had to be modernised in the period from 2010 to 2017.

The modernisation had to be carried out according to the standards of DB Station & Service AG.

The aim was to produce a consistent quality and service standard for train stations.

These were measures in the area of platforms (adjustment of the platform heights, and the replacement of coverings and guiding systems for the blind), improvement and adjustment of entrances, particularly taking into account customers with limited mobility.

Furthermore, there was also an improvement in platform equipment, weather protection, customer information and customer service.

In the scope of project control, Vössing was assigned with coordinating and organising the procedure with the planning offices.
