Project:
Project planning of the traffic light system Hanfelder-/Oßwaldstraße in Starnberg

Service period:
2012 – 2013

Project client:
Town of Starnberg

Project description

The priority regulated junction Hanfelder-/Oßwaldstraße in the town of Starnberg had to be fitted with a traffic light system.

The task included the concept, project planning, simulation and tendering of the traffic light system.

A focus in the creation of the control logic, was to avoid traffic jams on the access road to Hanfelder Straße heading into the town.

For this reason, a traffic-dependent controller was designed, with the main direction of permanent green, with free round-trip time formation, and traffic jam area monitoring, via an occupancy detector.

The control logic has many degrees of freedom, and can therefore react very flexibly to different traffic situations.

To check the controller, the traffic light system was mapped and visualised with the microscopic simulation software VISSIM.

Finally, the tender and contract awarding was carried out.
