Project description

With the construction of the "new railway bridge Kattwyk (NRK)" to the North of the existing Kattwyk bridge, the traffic categories rail and road are separated.

The NRK is a two-track railway bridge. The services include building supporting walls and foundations for the new operation building, East and West abutments for the later bridge, East and West river piers, construction of dolphin piles and training structures, and the construction of a culvert between the two river piers.

The river piers will be built as caissons in reinforced concrete.

The dimensions of the rectangular base plate of the river pier will be 29 m x 14 m. In the final state, the piers will have a foundation depth of approx. NN -30 m and a total height of approx. 37 m.

A culvert will be built to lay the necessary lines for traction current, command and signalling technology etc.

This culvert should be built between the river piers, at a depth of approx. NN -25 m with a diameter of DN 2000 in the tunnelling process.
