Project description

Construction of a heat and power plant for EVONIK, by GUN HITACHI Power Europe, which significantly fell short of the limit values for the permitted CO² emissions, and whose level of efficiency has now reached a world class standard, due to turbines being further developed in the meantime, and higher operating pressure.

This power station is considered a reference project worldwide.

The job of Vössing was the construction supervision in the manufacture of the infrastructure including outdoor facilities, at the same time as the structural engineering and steel construction, the extensive equipment for boiler construction and mechanical engineering, substations, water treatment and coal mills.

Over a total length of 19,800 m, 21 different piping systems had to be laid, from DN 100 to DN 2600, as PE, steel and concrete pipes, as pressure or open channel lines, at installation depths of 1.2 to 8 m.

The works were carried out in the tightest installation space, while maintaining the construction traffic, and in adherence with basic dates, which were critical in the construction schedule.
