Project description

The town of Dohuk in the north of Iraq, approx. 70 km from the Turkish border is one of three provincial capital in the autonomous region of Kurdistan. Dohuk is located in a basin with areas for development towards the west up to the Tigris. The population is forecasted to increase from a current approx. 250,000 to up to 600,000 people. Based on the digital data gained from flights and analysis of aerial maps, a master plan and further detailed plans for the town of Dohuk are to be drawn up.

Vössing was commissioned to draw up a master plan for Dohuk according to international standards. This master plan includes town development and the sewage network, including a sewage plant, and solutions for individual traffic and the future local and long-distance public transport system.
