Project description

To improve the local public transport in the district of Dachau, the existing, diesel driven line A Dachau - Altomünster, integrated into the Munich suburban railway network, should be electrified and in future, served with electric drive trains, in shorter cycle times.

The following measures were planned to implement the new timetable concept:

- new build encounter section Schwabhausen (approx. 4 km)

- new build junction station Erdweg (approx. 1 km)

- conversion/new build of eight platforms (140 m, 96 m) and barrier free development

- new build of signalling technology

- new build of overhead contact line systems

- new build of civil engineering structures (2 railway flyovers) in the area of the double track

- track lowering in the area of existing overpasses

- cable laying

- conversion of 20 railway crossings, five of them not technically secured

- resolution of six railway crossings

- road lowering at a railway flyover

- adjustment works to a railway crossing

- new build of a railway crossing
