Opis projektu

The expansion track section D/NL border – Emmerich – Oberhausen, was managed as a transnational project, in the Federal Transport Route Plan 2003. It is part of the agreement made between the transport ministers of the Netherlands and Germany, on the improvement of the German-Dutch rail freight and rail passenger long distance transport. With the acceptance of the so called Betuwe traffic from the end of 2006, the international rail freight traffic on the route between Arnheim and Oberhausen increased by around 300%. The expansion track section 2270 Emmerich – Oberhausen will be retrofitted to the current requirements of electronic signal box technology, in 2 construction stages, amongst other things.

This includes the new building of 9 railway crossings and adjustments to 44 railway crossings, alongside extensive CST works, and the manufacture of 7 module buildings.

In addition, points conversion measures are required in various route sections.
