Opis projektu

The research reactor FRM II in Garching near Munich is the most powerful German research reactor, with a rated capacity of 20 MW.

The reactor is operated by the Technical University of Munich as a central scientific establishment. The neutrons produced are primarily used for basic research in physics, chemistry, biology, medicine and materials sciences.

The reactor is located on the campus of the TU Munich.

Due to the water law approval for the introduction of weak radioactive cooling water into the Isar expiring at the end of 2019, a new approval procedure in accordance with sect. 15 Federal Water Act is required to continue the research operation.
