Opis projektu

The Hamburg harbour railway, a division of the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), is a public rail infrastructure company (RIC). It is responsible for planning, construction and maintenance of the approx. 350 km long rail network, incl. the engineering structures, signalling, communication and IT systems.

Around 200 km of private rails are connected to the harbour economy, at the platforms of the harbour railway. A total of 170 private connecting railways.

Even today, approx. 400 locomotives travelling alone run on it, which put additional strain on the already busy hubs and route sections.

Operational relief will be achieved via the locomotive service point (LSP) to the West of the harbour.

The capacities currently taken up with locomotive parking on operational tracks, will be freed up by using the parking possibilities in the LSP.

A locomotive workshop should be available for small repair works, and service facilities for fuelling, brake sanding and water intake.
