Opis projektu

Through a workshop procedure, an urban development design was conceived, which enabled a redesign of the former goods railway station.

A significant part of the project, was the development of a transport concept to absorb and flawlessly handle the traffic created by the redevelopment.

Furthermore, plans were made for a bypass road running through the area, with optimum connection to the inter-regional road network.

Important framework conditions were the DB route running parallel to it, the connections to the existing bridge structures and an optional tunnel structure.

Due to the complex task, a balanced and self-contained development concept had to be developed in an iterative overall process, depending on the urban development usage.

In doing so, the requirements of local public transport, cyclists and pedestrians, stationary traffic, sewerage and the building logistics contexts were taken into account.
