Opis projektu

The City-Tunnel is a railway tunnel to connect Leipzig central train station with the Bavarian train station, consisting of two tunnel pipes with an outer diameter of 9.1m each, produced with the help of a tunnelling machine, with fluid supported working face and segment extension.

The connection contains three underground stops, and two ramps with flyover structures, and creates underpinning of Leipzig central train station, in open construction (slotted walls, cover, partial underwater concrete, partial tertiary excavations) and one stop underground at Leipzig central station.

With the help of a mining pilot tunnel, icing the retaining walls and pressurised air, the trench was driven under the existing service centre of the central train station.

The trench of the north and west ramp, was created with back-anchored underwater concrete foundation, due to the high groundwater level.

The total length of the building measure is 4.6 km.
